360° virtual tours for web developers.
One HTML file. Static output. Your server.

Open the editor, drop in panoramas, click doors, download a folder, upload it to the client's host, send the invoice. No Docker, no desktop app, no account, no cloud, no subscription.

A nursing home in Hungary – 17 rooms, built with StaticTour, served as plain files from a cheap shared host.

The problem

There's no shortage of 360° tour tools. Most are hosted subscriptions (Kuula $20–48/mo, Matterport $10–69/mo plus per-space hosting). A couple sell a one-time $10 self-hosted export (Lapentor, Theasys). And there are open-source editors that export static sites – PanoPath, LibreTours 360, panoradesk-360 – but they want a Docker container, a server, or an Electron install.

A web developer who gets asked for "a virtual tour" once a year doesn't want any of that for a $200 line item. They want to open a file, click, get a folder, and move on. That's the whole product.

How it works

  1. Drop in 360° panoramas – equirectangular JPG/PNG from any 360° camera (Theta, Insta360, GoPro Max…). Resized and re-encoded in the browser.
  2. Place arrows on doors – click a door, pick the room it leads to. Set the entry view per room. The editor warns you about rooms you can't reach.
  3. Download tour.zip – unzip, upload the tour/ folder with FTP, cPanel, Netlify, GitHub Pages, S3, whatever. Open /tour/. Done.

Embedding is one iframe:

<iframe src="/tour/" allow="fullscreen; gyroscope; accelerometer" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Keep the ZIP – re-open it in the editor any time to add rooms or move arrows.

Pricing

The editor on this page and the repo are free, complete and MIT. Use it for clients, fork it, rebrand it.

If enough developers want it, there'll be a paid tier: one-time, per tour, roughly €5–10 – what Lapentor and Theasys already charge for a self-hosted export – and never a subscription. It would add what the free editor doesn't have: cloud project save, white-label branding and your logo in the viewer, floor plan overlay, tiled output for 16K+ panoramas, a client preview link. The free editor keeps everything it has today.

Would you use this for a client project?

That's the only question. Leave your email and a yes/no. I'll build the paid tier if there are enough yeses, and leave the repo alone if there aren't. No newsletter.

Who built this

I'm Dávid, a solo developer in Hungary. I made this for a nursing home that wanted a virtual walk-through without a monthly bill, and didn't want to run infrastructure for a one-off job. It's been in production since. My day job is Vatidator, an EU VAT compliance tool.
